Cartier
The wristwatches known by the name of Cartier today are based chiefly on the creativity of designer Louis Cartier. He designed, among many other such famous models as the "Santos" (1907),''Baignoire" (1912), "Tank" (1917), "Pasha" (1932) and "Vendome" (1933). These models enjoy special popularity among collectors, with relatively stable price beginning at about $1200. After a phase of being overvalued, especially extravagant chronographs, repeating or design watches, now show tendency toward declining prices.
We are still working on the individual histories of each manufacturer, as time permits. If you'd like to submit a manufacturer history, let us know and we will credit you as a contributing author.
